long night...

K... so I am a bad mom. Last night Hadlee was going to bed and had a pretty bad cold so I thought I would give in and give her some Tylenol cold plus. Well I was in my room and heard the water in the bathroom on and was wondering first-- why she was out of bed and second-- what she was doing. I found her playing in the water with the lid off the Tylenol and the bottle EMPTY! I said "Hadlee where did the medicine go?" in hopes maybe she dumped it down the sink, but no she is like her mom and loves the taste. She says "It is down my mouth" Lovely I call poison control and tell them how much was in the bottle and all that lovely stuff and she says take her to the ER! We load up and head in. We had to wait 4 hours after she had it to do a blood test. While waiting and trying to sleep She threw up 2 times... PURPLE and nasty, and tons of it. So obviously she really did drink the whole thing. Well Luckily the test came back at 25 which is just over her normal limit of Tylenol! I am sure glad she threw it up and got it out!
This is the cute little gown they gave her after throwing up all over, and her lovely hair that we had to wash in the sink! POOR GIRL! The gown was a little small, but cute! It was pretty scary there for a while, and it was a very long night that ended at about 4 am with us finally getting to bed. But we are happy that everything is OK now.
So remember to make sure you turn the lid till you hear the click. Dont be in a hurry!

I'm glad that little Hadlee is ok! That's the most important thing. The other important thing: don't get down on yourself. We ALL have those moments in parenting when we do things like this. :)
